Michelle is the Director of the Associated Psychology Practice and a registered Psychologist with over 21 years’ experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, and life’s harder transitions.

Michelle has a particular focus on trauma recovery, with extensive experience helping police officers and other first responders process Post Traumatic Stress Disorder using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). She understands the unique pressures of frontline work, and creates a space where clients feel safe enough to process what they’ve been carrying.

Before completing her supervision program and gaining full registration in 2005, Michelle worked in Out of Home Care — an experience that continues to shape her trauma-informed, grounded approach to therapy. Since then, she has worked across mental health and private practice settings, building a career centred on helping people move through — not just manage — what’s holding them back.

Areas of Focus

Trauma & PTSD Michelle has extensive experience supporting first responders — particularly police officers — living with PTSD, using EMDR to help process traumatic memories and reduce their ongoing impact.

Tics & Tourette Syndrome Using Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention (C-BIT), Michelle helps adults manage tics and Tourette Syndrome with practical, evidence-based strategies.

Anxiety, Stress & Perfectionism Michelle works closely with people struggling under the weight of perfectionism and people-pleasing, helping them build sustainable ways to manage stress and anxiety without burning out.

Therapeutic Approaches

Michelle draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, tailored to each client’s needs:

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention (C-BIT) for Tics & Tourette Syndrome
  • Brief Solution-Focused Therapy
