Applicants to the NSW Police Force recruitment process may be required to undergo a psychological assessment by a registered Psychologist, particularly where there is a history of psychological treatment or where further clinical clarification is requested during screening.

The purpose of these assessments is to provide independent, structured psychological evaluation to assist recruitment decision making. It focuses on current psychological functioning, resilience and fitness for the psychological demands of policing, rather than the mere presence of past treatment. Reports are written in clear, objective language and aligned with professional standards. They do not advocate for or against recruitment outcomes, but provide clinically relevant information to support informed decision making.

Belinda Grugan, Assistant Principal Psychologist and Emily Liddle, Early Career Psychologist are available to complete psychological assessments for NSW Police Force Candidates. They both have experience providing psychological treatment with current and former NSW Police Force members, and are familiar with the psychological demands of policing.
